Welcome!

My name is Amanda, and I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I was born and raised here in Murfreesboro and am a proud graduate of MTSU where I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent 17 years as an RN in various outpatient settings.

I decided to pursue a career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I was becoming more aware of how many people were struggling with their mental health and how significantly this was impacting their daily lives. I was also frustrated by the ongoing stigma surrounding mental health issues and seeking treatment.

I aim to provide compassionate and supportive care to patients by creating a non-judgmental environment where patients will feel completely at ease. I strongly support patient-shared decision making, and I work together with each patient to create individualized goals and plans for treatment because I want every patient to feel seen and heard.

I offer both medication management and non-medication treatment methods, always utilizing the most current, evidence-based practices. I believe in a holistic approach to patient care that balances both mental and physical health as well as a personalized approach that takes into consideration the biological, social, and environmental factors that can affect a patient's mental health. My ultimate goal is to help patients improve their mental well-being so they can feel like their true selves again.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors (weather permitting) because I love the peace and quiet found in nature. During the hotter and colder months, I am happiest being on the couch with my chihuahua and my husband watching movies or reading comic books.
